RADECS & TWEPP

Two mainstream conferences on radiation issues on electronics were held during the same week in September. The RADECS conference was hosted at Gothia Towers in Gothenburg, Sweden, while the TWEPP conference was hosted at KU Leuven - Campus Carolus in Antwerp, Belgium. Both conferences had attendees from partners and beneficiaries belonging to the RADSAGA consortium, with a massive participation from CERN. RADSAGA was represented by 13 ESRs out of 15.

Sascha Lüdeke (ESR1), Daniel Söderström (ESR2), Adam Labaza (ESR3), Vanessa Wyrwoll (ESR4), Kimmo Niskanen (ESR7), Ygor Aguiar (ESR9), Salvatore Guagliardo (ESR10), Tomasz Rajkowski (ESR12), Israel Lopes (ESR13) and Andrea Coronetti (ESR15) attended RADECS, while Jialei Wang (ESR5), Arijit Karmakar (ESR6) and Rico Maestro (ESR11) attended TWEPP.

Most notably, Kimmo Niskanen (ESR7) presented a poster during the Thursday's Data Workshop titled Aging and Gate Bias Effects on TID Sensitivity of Wide Bandgap Power Devices. Ygor Aguiar (ESR9) presented a poster during the Wednesday's Poster Sessions titled Impact of Complex-Logic Cell Layout on the Single-Event Transient Sensitivity.

RADSAGA was also a vital part of the CERN booth during the Industrial Exhibitions. The brand new RADSAGA roll-up had its premiere there, along with RADSAGA informative handouts and gadgets. RADSAGA ESRs explained the project challenges and current status to the many conference attendees. A similar RADSAGA booth was also put in place at the TWEPP venue. ESRs from Université de Montpellier also managed the RADECS 2019 booth. Great experience was gained in running this kind of activity and a fully dedicated RADSAGA booth is planned to be held next year at RADECS 2019 in Montpellier, France.

RADSAGA main achievement during the conference was attained on the football pitch of the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, venue of the 1958 World Cup. CERN and RADSAGA joined forces and brought home the glory of winning the football tournament. Here are the names of these immortal heroes:

Rubén Garcìa Alìa (CERN, RADSAGA coordinator)

Vanessa Wyrwoll (CERN, ESR4)

Kimmo Niskanen (UM, ESR7)

Salvatore Guagliardo (UM, ESR10)

Nourdine Kerboub (CERN)

Corinna Martinella (CERN)

Maris Tali (CERN/ESA)

Giulio Borghello (CERN)

Nikolaos Trikoupis (CERN)
