ESR 09 - Ygor Aguiar
Short biography
Ygor Aguiar has received a Bachelor's Degree in Automation Engineering at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG), Brazil, in 2015 and a Master's Degree in Microelectronics at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil, in 2017. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD degree at the Université de Montpellier, France, in the framework of the RADSAGA project. His main research topics are: analysis and modeling of radiation effects in electronics, device variability effects and hardening techniques for digital circuit design.
Why did you apply for a RADSAGA position?
Since my Bachelor's dissertation I've been working on the field of radiation effects in electronics. Also, after my great experience studying abroad (in Hungary for one-year scholarship during my Bachelor's Degree), I decided to pursue a PhD in an international environment, so that I could learn more about different cultures and languages. Then, thanks to Professor Fernanda Kastensmidt, who attended RADECS 2016 and heard about RADSAGA, I could discover this perfect opportunity which I was looking for.
What are your future goals? How will RADSAGA help you fulfill them?
I want to successfully complete my PhD thesis on radiation effects in electronics and contribute to the research field through the dissemination of the prospective results of my studies. Then, I want to work as a research engineer in an organization that fosters the development of science, technology and education.
