Celebrate Marie Skłodowska – Curie’s 150th birthday

On 7 November 2017, three international partners, CERN, University of Liverpool and LMU Munich, will be hosting a talk on the life and research of Marie Skłodowska-Curie. The talk will also touch on the achievements of the European Union’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, named after the double Nobel Prize winning Polish-French scientist. The talk is open to both the research community and to the general public. There will be public talks and poster sessions in all three locations, in addition to  activities for school children. All talks will be made available on video streaming.

The programme of the day at CERN includes:

15.00 – 16.00 – manned poster session with interviews and video live stream (area outside of council chamber, set up of posters by 10am)

The poster session will present the research results and career path of Marie Curie Fellows at CERN. It will form an important part of this international outreach event. Posters will be up all day and manned from 15:00 in the afternoon.

16.00  Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - an international success story - talk by Dr. Marco Silari (council chamber)

16:30 - Accelerating Researcher Training – talk by Prof. Carsten P. Welsch, University of Liverpool (live stream)
