'Turn your research into a business' Workshop at KU Leuven
Last week, our ESRs have attended a specializing training at KU Leuven. During the first 3 days, the ESRs have experienced a dense and hands-on training program focused on how to transform the knowledge and technology developed during the PhD studies into a profitable company. The lectures were taught by relevant experts in the field and it included the analysis of industry dynamics and introduction to business strategy and finance. The ESRs were divided into different groups in which a business project was carried along the program. In the end of the third day, each group presented the project proposal containing the industry analysis, business model and finance results to a panel of specialists in order to receive valuable feedbacks.
On Thursday, a representative of each Work Package (WP) discussed the achievements and deliverables of each ESRs. In this occasion, the presence of engineers and scientists in the field of radiation effects enriched the discussion during an industrial panel.
In the last day, our ESRs had a technical visit to the installations of the Centre Spatial de Liège (CSL), in which the current projects developed in the center were also discussed.
